Our History
When Chip Lafferty, third generation CEO of South Florida’s oldest mechanical HVAC company Hill York, invited his son Bob and nephew Chris to his central Florida lake house for the weekend, they had no idea what was in store for them. As a professional engineer, Chip knew that IoT technology was the next logical step in the industry and he challenged the young men to develop a predictive smart technology and delivery device that would transform the way the industry marketed themselves to small and medium businesses and that would “Lead the New Tech” for the HVAC industry. After a year and a half researching smart thermostats, diagnostic sensors, and now patent pending data solutions and algorithm development, the HYStat was born as a business platform that rapidly gained market acceptance as a disruptive innovation to the traditional “maintenance contract” schedule. As markets grew, so did the demands for better technology development, dedicated product supply chain, and monitored customer support from a trained analytics team. This led to the formation of HYTECH247, LLC , a separate entity focused on technology improvements, product sales, and monitoring services to the North American HVAC & Mechanical Contracting industry through Licensed Territory agreements with private label branded smart thermostats now in multiple states.
The vision to “lead the New Tech” is now real and growing daily.

Robert W. “Bob” Lafferty Jr.
CEO & President
Bob Lafferty, Co-Founder, CEO and President at HYTECH 24/7, is the fourth generation in an HVAC family. Bob brings his leadership skills and drive to get things done to a variety of organizations, including the Orange Bowl Committee, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Family Businesses of America, and Sons of Bosses. When he flips from work to play mode, he can be found playing golf, ping pong, wake-surfing with family, or enjoying a concert or game involving one of South Florida’s professional sports teams. Bob is a 2012 graduate of Broward College where he earned a B.A. in business management and administration.

In the dynamic and challenging economic climate of business and commerce, Chip continually drives improvement by initiating and working through innovative changes. Chip has been with Hill York since 1984 and has served as Chief Executive Officer since 1999. He has been personally involved with a multitude of projects at Nova University and has helped pioneer and perfect their ice storage technology over the years. His out-of-the-box thinking creates an exciting corporate environment. In his free time, Chip is always in for friendly competition including nerf fights, trivia and golf.

Bill Pierce is a highly experienced C-Suite executive delivering consistent results across a Broad range of industries including Industrial Services, Sports and Entertainment, Hospitality, and Financial Services in both Public and Private Companies. His deep skill set extends to business development, optimization, and measurement, M&A transactions, debt and equity raises, and portfolio company management and board representation. Bill is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, The Association for Corporate Growth, Orange Bowl Committee, and is active in Church leadership.
